oh yes...i've heard the self titled album (actually i think i should dig that one out and blow the dust off )....i've only heard 'Get Thee Gone' by geraldine Fibbers....i had no idea until now there were more albums....and a couple of years ago i saw her perform under the name 'Evangelista'....after the show i confessed my love since the Ethyl Meatplow days...she hugged me! and told me there was one in every city and it makes her happy!
edit those are just the first two tracks on the album....it's actually quite varied....from soulful singing to "Whitehouse" style noise....you should check it out...if you need help finding it just let me know |

Ha...I haven't heard Get Thee Gone. That's an EP, if I'm not mistaken. I've listened to their two proper albums: Lost Somewhere Between the Earth and My Home and Butch. Both are great. But, there's a compilation of EPs and it has all tracks from the one you mentioned. I should probably get that. To me Scarnella is just wonderful, not to mention that her voice really shines there. I listen to it pretty regularly ever since I first heard it in the late 90s. It's really sad that they recorded only one album. So what does Evangelista sound like? (that is if you remember anything else other than hugging Carla Bozulich ; sweet story)

And as far as albums I'm digging go, I'm listening to this at this very moment: Deströyer 666—To the Devil His Due This is the kind of raw, rowdy, barebones metal that you'd think there would be more of in the world but there isn't for some reason. It's the kind of metal that makes you think more of motorcycles and grimy bars than anything else, if that makes sense. Also a distinct 80s sensibility present throughout as well. I'm really digging it. Definitely worth a listen if you like anything from Motorhead to High on Fire. Here's a sample: |

I think I'm in love, this album is fantastic. Why does this album get so much hate, it's fantastic. Not quite as good as their other two but still a relly great album. Some of my favourite AF songs are on this album. |

So, there I was thinking about how amazing Lucinda Williams' new album's guaranteed to be in a couple of months' time, and then I started thinking about this album;
Lucinda Williams - Car Wheels On a Gravel Road For some bizarre reason I always find myself listening to her self-titled effort, West and Little Honey the most, so I kinda overlook this one a bit. It's a shame that I do, as this is really quite the awesome album. Basically; |

Loden - Buggy
This Belgian producer has made what is quickly becoming one of my favorite electronic (or any genre) albums of 2010. Part IDM, part glitch-hop and "LA beat scene"...so basically it fits right in with the type of electronic music I've been enjoying lately. Hot stuff.
