Kno- Death Is Silent
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_H4DjQspWW3.../s1600/Kno.jpg I'm not sure if I already posted about how much I dig this album, but it's by far and away my favorite rap release of the year, brilliant production as expected, but incredible lyrics and great flow. |

Played this for the first time in ages today and it generally holds up really well. Great band. Not as good as Low End Theory but still damn good. |

The Third Eye Foundation - Ghost (1997) It has been a long time since I last heard Third Eye Foundation, mostly on the radio, tracks from Ghost and You Guys Kill Me. This is the first time I actually listened to full album and I must say music is even better than I remember it. This electronic/drum 'n' bass project is actually Matt Elliott, an ex-member of Flying Saucer Attack, worked with Amp, active in the Bristol scene of the 90s etc. This is a brilliant album, haunting samples, noise, drum 'n' bass and jungle beats (or drill 'n' bass?)...Everything is put together with such a seamless flow, lots of layers of sound, dense texture that will take many listens to fully grasp everything. But regardless, like I said, this album flows so naturally and the hook for me is that it's frightening and beautiful at the same time. Here's a taste: |
