Started listening to this again yesterday I believe, like it even more than when I first got it (I forget when).

It's a bit chaotic in a cheery, upbeat way.

Lately I've been referring to IDM as Introverted Dance Music. I think it fits really well...still implies a bit of intelligence without sounding ****y...and I think introverted is what it's been all along, really. It's not for the dancefloor, it's for your brain. For personal enjoyment.

LSD and the Search For God - Self Titled EP

a My Bloody Valentine clone...warm and fuzzy and really spacey...have to admit that a full album may just entice me to play My Bloody valentine, Ride or Lush...so five songs are perfect

The problem with shoegaze is that it is really easy to do. Drown out poor composition and technical skill with loads of effects and bam you got a shoegaze band. I am constantly sifting through so many mediocre bands to get to the good stuff. I stay motivated because the good stuff is REALLY good.

LSD and the Search For God are one of the mediocre ones, but they at least make for an entertaining listen.

I've always thought that intelligent dance music just means 'you're forced to use your mind', which is pretty accurate, but I can see how some would find it a bit snobby and pompous. I don't really listen to the stuff too often, to be honest.

speaking of which, what was that chiptue/shoegaze band you were talking about? I want check them out, because the youtube videos you had were pretty cool.

Vintersorg - The Focusing Blur (2004)

If you haven't heard this album then you have no right to judge black metal. It's an incredibly blend of folk melodies, black metal and clean vocals, progressive rock styled songs, and inclusion of samples.

When you read this post Dayvan Cowboy I need you to get at me because we need to get you moving on to your next avant-garde metal album.

The band was the Depreciation Guild and the album was In Her Gentle Jaws. The guitarist is also in The Pains of Being Pure At Heart, if you have heard of them. I can get you a link if you don't mind waiting until tomorrow.
