classic 60s pop. I've loved this album on and off for a year and a half and it just sounds fresh and nice to me now.

favorite track

EMERALDS - Does It Look Like I'm Here?
Add two cups of F*ck Buttons, one cup of God Is An Astronaut, a dash of Steve Reich minimalism and put it into a blender. Usually, it will come out looking like this.

The Sadies - Darker Circles (2010)

This album is by far the best alternative country record of the year. It was everything I wanted Deer Tick's Black Dirt Sessions (2010) to be. It's got a nice balance between the twang of country and the overdriven chords playing out as subtle solos play in the background. I really wish the Canadian country scene was a little more popular, because there really are some great acts from there, Corb Lund, Elliott BROOD, The Sadies, Old Man Luke, Buck 65 (he did a country album), The Interpestuals, etc.

I'm by my own admission about 5 years behind the times, so it was nice to find out that good conscious hip-hop was still being made in the 2000s. The production on it is fantastically laidback too.

A Piece of Strange (2006) is by far one of the greatest contributions from the hip hop genre. An album bursting with good ideas, smooth beats, and excellent deliveries, it deserves to be listened to by ANYONE who enjoys hip hop or thinks they might be able to get into hip hop.

Deep Purple ~ "Made In Japan" played at full volume while mowing the lawn is perfect for drowning out the noise of the mower.

Me too... So far anytime someone has praised a hip hop album like that on here it turns out to be one of my favorite hip hop albums. Now I never pass them up.
