Yellow Magic Orchestra - Solid State Survivor

Yellow Magic Orchestra were to Japan what Kraftwerk were to Europe in regards to electronic music.
It's a lot less cold & a lot more melodic than Kraftwerk so in some regards it holds up a lot better today than some of Kraftwerk's stuff.

Breathe Owl Breathe - Ghost Glacier EP

32 minutes of very pleasant indie-pop/folk with boy/girl vocals and lots of little neat flourishes.

This is live, the studio version is better, but it'll give you an idea:

Totally digging the sound of this. Great electronica/experimental album, I think this may be the album of the year as of yet.
YAY! finally somebody who likes it!
This is probably my #1 album of 2010 unless if BOC or Battles can change my mind .

Les Savy Fav - Root for Ruin

Really enjoyable garage-y alternative rock. Been a fan of them ever since I heard their single "The Sweat Descends"

Fugazi - The Argument

This got some praise around here so I checked it out and I definitely like it. Any suggestions as to which album I should head for next?

Plenty of people like this...in fact today was one of the few times I've heard someone post negative things about it.

Well since you started with their last one, you might as well go backwards from there and get End Hits. I like it as much as The Argument, but I like those two less than the 4 that preceeded them.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Jim O'Rourke - Eureka

Pretty simple stuff, but I really enjoy the subtle guitar work. I find it hard to find music that manages to be happy while still retaining meaning and all of its musical merit, but the first track on here does that in spades. Really quite the album.
