Sadly that's really the only Galaxie 500 album I could get into. By the time they made another one, there were other shoegaze bands doing much more interesting things. That is still a damn good album, though.

I wouldn't class Galaxie 500 as Shoegaze, I'd say they were 'Dream Pop', even though both genres cross over and they do share similarities, I do think they and a band like Ride are totally different. Really great album though.

It's amazing, I'm on a kick right now of bands playing at ATP in December cos I'm going and there's a few bands playing which I've not listened to. Dean Wareham is playing there and is gonna be playing Galaxie's music so y'know. Cannot wait for that.

I think they are right on the line when it comes to what you should classify them. They were definitely precursors to shoegaze if anything. Their sound contributed a lot to what other bands expanded upon, but that's why their other albums sound a bit stale. Other bands REALLY expanded.

Not that it matters, but I've always considered them a Dream Pop band. I think if someone was looking for Shoegaze, they'd find a lot of stuff different to Galaxie 500. Shoegaze more true to the Genre, I don't think clumping them with other Shoegaze bands and saying others were doing more interesting stuff is totally fair, I think they should be kept apart myself. Shoegaze

But like you say, great album nonetheless. Definitely their best.

I thought it was pretty good I could definatley see some replay value in this for me. I posted a review of this album under thoughts on albums I listened to today as well as a review of Chinese Democracy.

Sweet, I'm actually wearing the white comic book final frontier shirt that I got when I saw them on tour this summer.

This album is pretty fantastic. Just like everything Tom Petty writes.

Some post-rock albums I hadn't gotten around to.
