Strange. I think the song-writing is great, fantastic melodies. "Blues From A Gun" is a brilliant song.

I need the top 2 JAMC in my collection. Jeez will I ever get all the music I want? I will be in my 80's and still not satisfied.

Compared to Psychocandy it's pretty average, and overall sounds a bit generic to me.

Neutral Milk Hotel - In The Aeroplane Over The Sea
This album has had enough praise, so I thought I should try it. I really liked what I heard.

Favorite track: "Oh Comely"

16 Horsepower - Low Estate
Gave this album a listen as well, and I also liked what I heard. I like the vocals very much.

Favorite track: "Fire Spirit"

Yeah I don't know what all the fuss is all about with that one either. Anyone have the early JAMC albums?

First time I listened I really enjoyed. The next few times I enjoyed it even less. Now I can't really bring myself to listen to it much, especially all the way through. Took me a while but I worked out that my main dislike was the lead vocals. He's fine when he sings but when he wails.....he doesn't have a voice for wailing really. I grates on me and I have to turn it off. I can see why people love this album though. I would probably rate it quite highly if it was sung by someone else.
