Tom Waits - The Heart Of a Saturday Night

Warm is probably the best one word I can think of to describe this album. I must have listened to it about 500 times by now. Plus, along with Steely Dan's Aja it's the album responsible for turning me on to a lot of other stuff you could call jazz, so bonus awesome points for it there.

Cranes - S/t

Really beautiful album, perfect to fall asleep to IMO. Her voice may not be the most conventional in all of music but it definitely fits perfectly I think. These guys are definitely worth checking out if you're into dreamy shoegaze type stuff.

I don't know, but this is really gorgeous music, and is definitely my favorite of what I've heard from Boris (Flood, Pink, and Amplifier Worship). It can be very emotive and tranquil, but eventually crescendos and become very heavy and loud before settling back down again. Kind of like the title of the album.

Bleh. Here, this guy on RYM can describe it better than I can:
"It's kind of hard to explain this album to someone who has hasn't heard it, over the internet is even more difficult, well here goes,

Track 1 goes like this: do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do and so on for about 15 minutes.

EDIT2: This post has made me realize that I can not write worth a damn past 2 AM.
I haven't listened to this one too much. Is it new? I don't even recognize the album cover! Searching for it now ...

It was released 10 years ago and, from what I've gathered, it's one of their better albums. I should probably listen to the Boris I downloaded.

Definitely more drone. If you want something closer to psychedelic rock I think you should check out Pink if you haven't already.

Digging the Funk/Afrobeat vibes from this one. Just got into them recently and Budos Band's debut is great!
