I think people's dislike of other peoples music tastes largely revolves around culture. For example, many people dislike emo music because many people dislike emos. Many people dislike drum n bass because of the twats that sit on the back of the bus forcing you to listen to it on their **** quality phones. And personally, I hate screamo because I hate scene kids.

This is a stupid conversation.
http://images.jambase.com/merch/newdanger.jpg Mos Def - The New Danger Who says a hip-hop album can't be a little bit of everything? This is an insane piece and really showcases Mos Def's versatility as an artist. |
I can't wait for I Set My Friends On Fire's new CD. It comes out in October. They're amazing.

Garage Days - Metallica
How I love this album..I love Metallica's covers. And I am even covering it myself. haha..cover of a cover.. :D I am easily amused. |
My friend told me to check out this band out and they sound great a bit like Gang of 4 mixed with The Strokes to create some great dance punk.

Skeletal Lamping - Of Montreal
my first foray into the music of Of Montreal, I was apparently not suppose to like it, but I do! |

Black Sabbath - Technical Ecstasy I swear to God, no matter how many times I think that I've listened to enough Sabbath I will never get sick of how refreshing they were. The Ozzy years were absolutely gorgeous. |
Alphataurus - S/T
In my recent explorations of Italian prog, I've come across this gem and I haven't been able to stop listening to it. And La Mente Vola sounds incredibly futuristic for 1972. http://pixhost.eu/avaxhome/avaxhome/..._K_Front_1.jpg Send More Paramedics - A Feast for the Fallen I like this but then again, I'm fairly inexperienced in this area so I'm probably easily impressed. http://img413.imageshack.us/img413/3...efallenoi2.jpg Simon & Garfunkel - Bookends: I decided it was about time I got some of their studio albums, and I like what I'm hearing. http://www.geocities.com/white_album_2000/bookends.gif |
Swell Maps-Jane From Occupied Europe:
http://dvweb.mpf.arcstarmusic.com/md...D_348122_l.jpg Post Punk meets Krautrock influences via Lo Fi ambient passages. It's fucking ace. Zaraza-Slavic Blasphemy: http://disemia.com/creation/issue_2_3/dark/zaraza.jpg Mentioned in my self titled thread. This is experimental Doom with samples, keyboards and odd time signatures. Oh yes it's tasty. Porcupine Tree-Insignificance: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...gnificance.jpg A bunch of outakes, demos and rare tracks that is actually very cohesive and features a wide range of their sound. Metric-Grow Up And Blow Away: http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1267/...51a34c.jpg?v=0 Nothing spectacular but this gentle indie guitar album with it's very slight Jazz tinged atmosphere is perfect for work. |
