Apocalyptica - Worlds Collide. Love this one, especially the title track, S.O.S. (Anything But Love), and I'm Not Jesus. Chthonic - Mirror Of Retribution. Haven't listened to the whole thing yet, but I'm likeing it. Behemoth - Evangelion. One of the best black metal albums EVER, and one of my most favorite albums EVER.

David Sylvian & Ryuichi Sakamoto - World Citizen EP A collection of all the collaborations between Japan's David Sylvian and the Yellow Magic Orchestra's Ryuichi Sakamoto, and as far as I know some are new and some are old (Forbidden Colours, aka the bestest song ever is on there). A sublime mix of downtempo electronica, jazz and pop on the whole. These guys really should've done a full-length album together. |

I just listened to the album Earth 2 by Earth for the very first time. Life will never be the same again. I swear it took me to another planet. The way it swelled and subsided like the sonic equivalent of a black hole. Never before have I heard such compelling drone.
I rate it a good BWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM/10 |

Intriguer - Crowded House: I only found out this came out on Saturday, and I've only listeneed to it twice, but I can already tell is going to be a stayer in my collection... Neil Finn has lost none of his songwriting ability with age.... in fact it only improves with time like a fine wine... the band is in fine form and the songs have character substance and are gorgeously listen - worthy. It' a relatively short album, given the length of the previous releases, but its short, sweet and to the point, and I truly, truly dig it.

Both fantastic albums. Chthonic is probably my favorite black metal band...something about the erhu just works perfectly with the music. Indigenous Lacerations is still their best, but this album is good. Behemoth is just always good.

Agalloch - The Mantle I was reading through this thread and found these guys. I can't remember whose post I got it from...probably Jackhammer since most of the metal he recommends is pretty much the ****. I don't know what you would call this...black folk metal? Either way, it's good.
