My god...that was like an assault on my ears. Intense. But I like it...

I felt the same. Knowing it was Zeuhl, I expected something like Magma, which is much more subdued and never ascends into such chaos. The first song made my eyes widen. Dare I say that this better than Magma? ...

Koenjihyakkei are pretty awesome, but the world of zeuhl is quite large: bands like Universal Totem Orchestra, Corima and Ruins do much for the genre's reputation!

That sounds interesting to say the least.

I myself am digging the latest Doomriders album.

Ioseb - Ghost of 33

Swedish post-rock band. Really digging this album right now.

Suffocate For **** Sake - Blazing Fires and Helicopters on the Front Page of the Newspaper. There’s a War Going On and I’m Marching in Heavy Boots

A Post-hardcore/sludge/post-metal/post-rock project of Iosebs guitarist/vocalist Daniel Loefgren.

Loop - A Gilded Eternity

Pretty much what you expect from Loop - it's brilliant, just like their other two records. Lots of droning guitar riffs, heavy use of repitition, obviously inspired by krautrock. It sounds a lot like Spacemen 3 but with more purpose and drive, and more of a sinister edge to the music. "Breathe Into Me" might be my favourite Loop song, too.

I was just listening to that again yesterday. I prefer Heavens End but its such a solid record.
