Triptykon - Eparistera Daimones
A candidate for the best metal album of '10 so far imo. This is the very first release from the Swiss black metalers. The band was formed by metal legend, Tom Gabriel Warrior of Hellhammer and Celtic Frost. Check this **** out, it melt your ****in' ears.

1349 - Liberation Raw, butt-banging Black metal. Those who know me (nobody) will have realised I prefer the more commercial sound of Black metal (Satyricon and Marduk's 'better sound quality' albums in mind, oppose to disliking their earlier stuff). However, 1349 does a good job in bringing an intense, enjoyable sound, with Frost dominating drums. Liberation, Riders Of The Apocalypse, and Satanic Propaganda (love the intro) are favourites of mine on the album.

Black Tambourine - Complete Recordings
this is an American band from the early 90s, don't really know how I neglected them until now. Very obviously influenced by The Jesus and Mary Chain, as well as bands like The Pastels and Beat Happening... so it's really lovely and kinda cutesy songs (with a great female singer) occasionally buried under massive distortion. Garage rock, shoegaze, twee noise - it's f'ucking good whatever it is! |

Digable Planets - Reachin' (a new refutation of time and space) Some of the smoothest rap I've ever heard. I think a lot of people who grew up in the 90's will recognize Rebirth of Slick (Cool Like Dat). Some great jazz/hip hop blending going on here...it's too bad they broke up after the next album. Though I hear they started working on a new one in 05...who knows if we will ever get to hear it.

Six Feet Under - Graveyard Classics 3
The best of the SFU cover albums yet. Icludes a cover of Anvil's "Metal On Metal", Slayer's "At Dawn They Sleep", and The Ramones' "Psychotherapy".
