I point this out due to frustration every once in a while but it never does any good.

So...thank you people who actually write a couple sentences about the albums you post here. Otherwise, this may as well be the "last album you bought or downloaded" thread.

Some people aren't good at saying WHY they like it though a genre and release date or something wouldn't go a miss.

If they can't write anything about it there's the last album you bought or downloaded thread and there's the what are you listening to thread.

What if it's an old favourite that you haven't just bought or downloaded? And you're digging it but you aren't articulate enough to say why you like it?

I think as a bare minimum people should at least say "A great indie-pop record" or a "great dark metal album" or something like that.

I would say what are you doing on a music forum.

Some people may be on here to find new music, not necessarily discuss it but I think a nice simple line about the genre would suffice.

Is it really that difficult to write maybe 3 or 4 lines listing songs you like, or say what made you want to check it out in the first place or give a couple of thoughts about it?

The whole reason this thread was started was because people were bored of just reading endless lists of album titles & cover art and there are still threads where you can do that if you want to.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to keep standards.

I'm not too fussed if people don't leave a line about why they like it, I often look up albums that are posted here, if I've never heard about them. If it's a progressive rock album I'm wasting my time. So a genre and a little information wouldn't go a miss. As a bare minimum I'd be happy with a genre and a simple line about why they like it. Naturally the more information, the better. I'm not disagreeing, just saying that people can't always write about WHY they like it.

Between the Buried And Me - Colors

It's no secret that I'm pretty biased towards newer metal out of America. No matter what it is I'm almost guaranteed to prefer the metal coming out of the Scandinavian countries or Holland so for this to get a mention shows what an amazing album it is. I've heard it described as "Adult Contemporary Death Metal" and I suppose that is a good way of describing Colors. The album really does go all over the place, from the guttural vocal delivery of death metal to clean crisp melodic vocals and on one song I heard a freakin' banjo! Talk about eclectic.
