Lansing-Dreiden - The Incomplete Triangle

Sigh...one of my favorite albums of the 00s, sadly overlooked every time I mention it, and barely known elsewhere too. A strange yet cohesive mixture of post-punk, baroque pop, dream pop, shoegaze, 80s-ish electronic beats, garage and even metal (not all in every song, of course). Great melodies and vocals throughout.

This first one's from a different release but I posted it on YT this AM. Really shows the beauty of some of their songs. The following two are from the album I posted.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

The new BoB album is pretty hot at the moment, with airplanes being the best on it

Everything But the Girl - Temperamental

This album's so sexy you can set off smoke alarms by listening to it too loud. One of the ultimate night-listening albums.

'Into the Ocean' and 'X Amount of Words' have been favorites for a long time, but the whole album really is phenomenal.

The Black Keys - Brothers (2010)

I'm really enjoying this album, far more than their previous few releases. It's not quite as hard as their first three albums, but it's solid and has a nice neo-psychedelic sound to it, plus it's quite melancholy without being whiny. Great white boy blues-rock.

The Sadies - Darker Circles (2010)

I haven't enjoyed a true alt. country album this much since I found Deer Tick back in November. I only had their 2004 release, Favourite Colours which I didn't really like that much but I didn't want to write off this band because they're Canadian and similar to Elliott BROOD in a few ways, but I just wasn't having it with that album. Well luckily Darker Circles came along and completely reversed my opinion on the band. I'm not really up to date as to what's coming out country wise this year but if nothing else is, then this is my favourite alt. country album of the year.

I'll second this. I'm into their latest release more than previous efforts, I think it's an excellent blues rock record.

Other Men - Wake Up Swimming

Dammit I love this album. It's like Pinback on math. Similar melodies, and the vocals (and bass) of Rob Crow, but mostly faster and more playful. Very skillfully played, with a fair dose of slower parts that are more reminiscent of Pinback, but then they escalate back into mathy fun. I just posted this vid on YT, one of my favs:

Here's another that was already there, unfortunately it's quiet and a bit low quality. So turn it up! A good one but not my favorite. Pretty well representative though.
