Been a while since I last got a load of Oils, and I'm just remembering why they're one of my top 8 on LastFM. Love or hate Peter Garrett's vocal style, you've gotta admit there's character and edge by the bucketload to the whole sound (which is basically all I keep an ear peeled for in any music I listen to).

GREAT band!!! Awesome album choices by said band too!!! I loved this band since my twelfth birthday and i still can't stop lovin' 'em! You're right about the absolute ton of character there is in the music / vocals / lyrics... they were a really tightly knit unit that really knew how to play to their strengths and make an album great. They never really released anything substandard in their entire career.

Power pop is a genre I will almost always like, but rarely dive headlong into. I think this album might be changing that. Lovely buzzing melodies, but honestly, I don't know why Neko Case doesn't sing the whole thing - she kills every track she's on.

Three or Four is the standout track at the moment.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Sometimes when I go from related video to related video on YouTube I get nowhere.. but this time I DID end up finding a new favorite artist. Peter Broderick
