Sonic Youth - Goo Just a brilliant album, been trying to get into this album for a while. Tinkering with them but this is the first album I've really got into. I love the distorted guitar tones. Top notch album. |

Probably my favorite SY album...it's one of those things I can't put my finger on, too. The guitar tones are just great, but as far as the actual music goes....there is just something addictive about it that I can't figure out.

Then again that's probably because I don't know the album top to bottom yet.. Maybe the last 5 songs will become increasingly better with each listen. |

The second half is kind of like all of Daydream Nation for me. It took me a really long time to get into that album. I was always confused why everyone thought it was so good until one day it clicked.

I'm hoping I'll keep growing in to Sonic Youth, They aren't the most accessible band, I think it's cos of the singing or the lack of, sometimes it's just talking, which can be a bit irritating. I have an OCD of people delivered good lyrics in a good way.. But sometimes if the music is THAT good, I can be lenient to the singing after a while of getting used to it. |

Every summer my bf goes through this phase where he gives SY a listen and tries to convince himself that he likes some of their stuff but it never works. This summer he's actually getting into this album. I don't know what it is about this band, to me they're pretty boring, maybe that's why it takes some effort to sit through any of their albums.
