BOTH? They are both awesome. I listen to the 90s albums more for just the singles, but I can listen to all three releases from the 80s all the way through. And they each clock in at around 30 minutes!

Bug is worth it just for Don't. I put that track on repeat for about two hours one night when I was particularly frustrated with everything going on. Excellent cathartic experience.

Honestly I find Bug a bit hit-or-miss, Freak Scene is a great track but there's more than the fair share of duds in there as well. It was pretty obvious the band was falling apart by that point. Here's how I would categorize them: Fucking Awesome: You're Living All Over Me (1987) Beyond (2007) Excellent: Farm (2009) Promising: Bug (1988) Green Mind (1990) Dinosaur (1985) Terrible: Where You Been (1993) Without a Sound (1994) Hand It Over (1997) ^ The protracted absence of Barlow becomes reaaaaaally noticeable towards the middle of the nineties. J, what the hell were you thinking?

Heh...I thought the cover was pretty terrible, personally. I heard it as part of my first listen to the album it definitely brought it down a notch. Then I realized it wasn't part of the original release. Phew.

BTW, that was the song that put them on the map (plus the Freak Scene single in 1988).

Hmm, I had no idea. I knew nothing about indie rock in 88, sadly. I was into glam rock and phasing into metal.
