Warning to everyone who's posted an album over the last 7 or 8 pages. You might have PM's heading your way. There are so many albums on recent pages I want that it would take me forever.
If you haven't got it yet let me know. This Is My Truth isnt a terrible album but its one of the Manics poorest I think. Theres a few good tracks on it. |

The Sundays - Reading, Writing and Arithmetic I've been all over this album recently. Think about the Smiths with a bit more dreampop injected into them. Oh, and an incredibly sexy sounding female singer. Sound awesome? Probably because it is.

Elvis Costello & the Attractions - Imperial Bedroom For all the Costello I listen to I haven't heard this (my favourite of his albums) end to end in quite a long time. Such a miserable, gloomy, suprisingly eclectic and brilliantly composed album - I love it to pieces. Bat For Lashes - Two Sunds I found her first album bit boring really, and this is such an improvement in form it's unreal. Shame about the crappy sleeve art though. |

I feel really guilty almost for not liking the Sundays, i feel i should like them but i feel they aren't too different enough. The closest i can think of as a female version of the Smiths is the Long Blondes and thats only slightly and album wise they haven't got nearly any of the consistency...

REM - Live at the Olympia.... lotsa old stuff and unformed (at the time) new stuff = great, off the cuff feeling live album... free of the polish that sometime mars live records, this one has lots of banter between Stipe, the audience, the band and it just sounds like everyone in the room is having a darn great time, band included.... which must have been a revelation for the nervous band going into recording Accelerate after the plodding Around the Sun

This is not good music. Somebody left Daughters for this, right? While I love the new Daughters (I plan to review it), Fang Island sounds really bad to me
