Cragataska - Utanç

Thought I'd love it, and I do. It's DSBM but not like Xasthur or Sterbend, the vocals are more deeper and aggressive; almost growling. Lots of atmosphere filled with piano, amazing guitar work, and also flutes and drums which both sound middle eastern. An exciting release that's far more interesting than a vast majority of the DBSM albums I've heard recently. And to think this is his demo

Cats and cats and cats - Sweet Drunk Everyone

Very lovely album, even though it's about 5 songs long. Really beautiful indie math rock.
"Fight Fight with Fight" can be downloaded for free on their last.fm

Funeral - The Arcade Fire

I can't believe how criminal it was of me to overlook this very fine album all those years ago, only halfway through now and am totally rediscovering it's complete unmitigated awesomeness! I am loving it very very much!

To compliment the above poster's album dig, I present.. Ancient Glass by Fugue.

Fugue – The Sleep Of Reason Produces Monsters – Free listening at Last.fm

They're not on Youtube as far as I can find, so there's that. ^^ Beautiful tune.

*EDIT* First comment directed toward Dr.Seussicide.

Dave Holland - "Conference Of The Birds"

unreal post-free-jazz with highly developed compositions and amazing improvisations from Sam Rivers, Anthony Braxton, Holland, and a percussionist/vibrophonist whose name escapes me

The Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots

I'm ashamed to say i'm a bit of a late-comer to The Flaming Lips. This album is near perfect, every song is incredible.

Alcest - Souvenirs D'un Autre Monde

What an awesome album. Heavy yet melodic and beautiful, with soft dreamy vocals adding a dream-like feel. A great album to immerse yourself in.

Picked this up on Saturday- yet another back catalogue title that has taken forever for me to get and although some of the tracks don't hold up too well and it has a terrible drum sound, listening back I think that original guitarist Slovak was bloody good and could knock out some great riffs and solos. Backwoods FTW of course.

By all rights I shouldn't really like this. A little sweet and sickly and nothing stands out a mile but it's just one of those albums that I can slip into and listen all the way through. Stick what genre tag you want on it but essentially it's a fantastically crafted album with Pop sensibilities that I never tire of.

This album got a bit of panning from both critics and fans and it took a while to grow on me when it first came out but damn. Crank this loud and have fun. I don't think any bands come close to what Prodigy do whether you like it or not. Those basslines are thick as fuck.
