^ Hard to go wrong with Scott Walker. He's very much a headphones sort of guy.

A few things I'm enjoying-

Shulman - In Search of a Meaningful Moment (2003)
http://www.ashoka.com.pl/download/cd...ful_moment.jpg

This is electronic music taken from typical enthrallment levels into more divine territory that's reserved for the best of the best. Think Shpongle with an even stronger grasp on atmosphere and use of space and you'd be on the right track for an idea of the sound here, but nothing I can say would be adequate enough. Listen...and learn.

Kaipa - In The Wake Of Evolution (2010)
http://uppix.com/f-KAIPA24b5347ac00027e88.jpg

Considered to be the Yes/Genesis of Swedish progressive rock history, Kaipa have always been interesting for a prog. band even if none of their modern material has been that great. This new release, however, is a major step up from that mehness, featuring some extremely weird but awesome synths and guitar as well as swell vocal work. First A+ prog. record of the year!

Such a great find. Japanese trio consisting of 2 females and a male who play a sort of bouncy guitar pop with a Punk attitude but then throw in a bit of noise and a little Math Rock but it works really well. Have a listen:

Loving the vocals, instrumentals, everything. Downloading this now.

It's easy to see parallels between Mark Linkous's life and death and forebears such as Elliott Smith. The difference being, of course, that Linkous could actually write worth a damn, and his debut Sparklehorse album more than proves it. In particular "Cow" is just enormous:

Waw... this is perfect... downloading this now...

Just finished listening to, and very much enjoying, Untitled # 23 by the Church...

Now i am enjoying Monster by REM, one of their most underrated, most FUN sounding albums...

I've had it for awhile and listened to it all the time. I forgot about it.. then started listening to the WHOLE thing (instead of just the 3 songs I knew I liked) and I think it's safe to say that this is now my favorite Black Metal album.

I've been rediscovering this delightful piece of punk. Tracks like Bring on the Nubiles and School Mam are amusingly lascivious.

This is simply some enjoyable bluesy psychedelia and I don't know why these guys weren't better known.

I've also been rediscovering Juju by Siouxsie and the Banshees. Monitor is so infectious with its dark chugging sound. It's easy to see why these guys (and girl) were so influential.

Due to the Fall's new one being as awesome as it is, I've having a bit of a Fall binge today...

One of the brighter and much more accessible Fall albums. Some great songs on it, but as far as the more melodic Fall goes, it's very much outdone by Wonderful and Frightening World Of the Fall of however many years earlier it was. Some of their best songs are on this though, like this one...

This is much more like it, and definitely on the top shelf of Fall albums for me. Observe...

why, of course it's one of my favorite albums of last year... Untitled # 23 by The Church... still one of my favorite albums of last year, like a fine wine it just keeps getting better with age!

I'm not usually a fan of this type of Cool Kid, Kidz in the Hall type rap. But these guys do it better. All of the songs on Nightlife are pretty good.
