XTC - Mummer

Just as gorgeous an album as I remember it being. I hadn't listened to it in a while before I reminded of it by Pete's album list a moment or two back. It's got this great, silky-smooth and mellow sound to it - very laid back vibe executed with typical panache.

Great album Zarko! One of my favorite early era Church albums!

Was getting into a whole plethora of great albums last night... quite a range of diverse different styles between them all too... a most enjoyable even of music listening, even though i stayed up way too late and now i am feeling it due to the fact my daughter usually wakes me no later than 8 o' clock... nevertheless, i digress, the musical goodness that colored my night last night included...

Type O Negative - October Rust
Devin Townsend Project - Addicted!
Paul Dempsey -- Everything is True
Peter Gabriel - Scratch My Back
The E.L.F - Stevie Nicks Hearts EP

Lotsa enjoyment!

The Associates - Sulk

Musically-speaking, it's been a pretty quiet weekend for me. This here's one I must have had for months but forgotten about it 'til now - miles away from their more synth-poppy stuff and a lot closer to a post-punk/early gothic rock sound with some synthesized atmospherics. Very good stuff then, and includes a fascinating, oddly melodic rendition of Gloomy Sunday (the most miserable song ever written for those who don't recognise the name).

Here's another one of the best bits...

So far today's listening has led me through...

Moby - 18 and 18 - B - Sides

and...

Scratch My Back - peter Gabriel...

More musical goodness to listen to tonight!
