I have hazy memories of picking this up as my first ever Stones album years ago in the Fopp store in Oxford. I think it was the same time and place I got the White Album and Grinderman's eponymous effort too. Ah, the memories!

Great, great album. Worth having it for the title track and Monkey Man alone.

I'm not a diehard Rush fan, but I still find it amazing how strangely well this particular work of theirs holds up thirty years later. Both 'Jacob's Ladder' and 'Natural Science' are really underrated songs IMO.

One of my favorites. This, Moving Pictures, and A Farewell to Kings are my top Rush albums.

The new Frightened Rabbit leaked, and Midnight Organ Flight is one of my favorite albums, I may even say this is a step up from their first album.

This is pleasing me greatly today. It's somehow been inspiring for work.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

A couple of days I downloaded it, and now I'm officially digging it. This album already has a pretty big lead for my favorite of 2010.

I just can't stop listening to it.

Hot Snakes - Audit in Progress

They're like Les Savy Fav. Except good. Despite the haplessly formulaic song structures (everything is in 6/4), John Reis and Rick Froberg still managed to crank out oodles of inventive riffs and stuff them into four-minute packages. Probably the best anyone has channeled Wipers or Mission of Burma since Zen Arcade, I'm wondering how they gravitated so far from their roots in Drive Like Jehu and still manage to sound so good.

Excellent record for anyone who has an even nominal interest in post-hardcore or indie rock.
