Yeah I like the term. It's nothing to do with the artist/album I posted though, other than the term Braindance referring to IDM music, basically.

Not as sophisticated or consistant as their newest, but man is it packed with wild energy.

Solid, epic album from start to finish. Has a nice technical aspect that's absent from most post-rock.

I love their humor and use of many different styles.

Ah ok, gotcha. Just saw two images there and figured it to be two different albums. Oops. ><

I just like the dancing brain logo. :D I think Aphex Twin came up with the term Braindance for his label Rephlex, in response to the genre name Intelligent Dance Music (IDM). Kind of mocking it I guess.

Still on a Costello bender just like old times!

Here's one I haven't listened to in such a long time though. Forgot how beautiful this album is too. Easily the most easygoing and calm Costello album - great night-time listening.

And I intend to belatedly give this a first go a bit later.

Some good old school Thrash/Death Metal that actually has riffs and not some idiot grunting and squealing over some non descript noise (yes Job For A Cowboy- I'm looking at you)

Most modern Ska still goes down the tired old Punk root with predictable riffs with the odd Ska line thrown in. This is back to the Trad. sound with Horns, multiple vocalists, a touch of Dub and a reverence to the scene that spawned them:

AA-Essential Entertainment. An E.P from a short lived Belgian Post Punk band who sadly never put out anything after this.

I put this lot down as just another run of the mill Ska Punk band but (apart from a couple of tracks) this is almost progressive Ska with many influences bubbling under and a distinct lack of creating by the numbers 3 minute crowd pleasing ditties.
