I feel bad, a few weeks ago I didn't know anything but Bittersweet Symphony and I never thought of giving them much of a chance. This album is nice and relaxed while still being complex. Nothing like what I expected. Wish I would've listened sooner. |

Great album. I haven't listened to a new Psychedelic album that took me by surprise, for so long. And that Paint it Black cover is nothing less than mind-blowing, the purely oriental, middle-eastern guitar intro to the song was just sublime.

And I definitely agree with you, Shiny Beast might approach my second favorite Beefheart album.

Elliott BROOD - Mountain Meadows Not a new album for me, but one I still cannot listen to enough. Everything just flows so well in this album. Their debut LP had a very distinct 1st and 2nd half, but this one just blends their darker sounds with their lyrics much better. I can't wait 'till they put out a new album |

^ I support this album. And I still haven't listened to their first one. I guess there's a bit of reluctance since it's generally not my type of music. But I do like Mountain Meadows a lot.

Their first album is very... schitzo, the first 6 songs are fairly dark and brooding (pun not intended) whereas the last set are more relaxed. While I love their darker songs like "Wolfgang", "President (35), and "Second Son", the 7th track "Jackson" is still my favourite from that album. I can send it to you if you'd like.

Been digging Addicted by The Devin Townsend project again.... darn near perfect album for driving... it's been glued into my car stereo, almost!
