Lisa Hannigan-Sea Sew
Very pleasant folk-pop album.

Yeah, I did the same thing when I first listened to them except with Elephant Eyelash because I got it first. Him/they are pretty awesome.

Original Sin - Grow Your Wings

New DnB that I'm loving atm. Some good diversity on here, with a few tunes that are absolutely dangerous. There's some softer, moodier stuff as well though, like this beautiful song:

As you say it's a bridge between their Pop sensibilities and their experimental future releases. It's still my favourite Talk Talk release. Brilliant album.

An album that opens with such a laid back melancholic vibe with unusual instrumentation as this deserves a listen for sure.

Yeah, the opener there's one of my favourites off of the album too. April 5th, Living In Another World and Time It's Time are all reason enough to get the album alone as well. The thing I love about the album is that it's very unique musically (some excellent vocal parts from Mark Hollis too) but perfectly accessible as well. Definitely one of the three absolutely essential albums of theirs. As for my favourite, Laughing Stock just shades it for me.

Red Garland - Red Garland's Piano
A simple, soulful, and very bluesy piano jazz album. Some great standards from one of jazz's best and most legendary players . Iv'e been fishin' for a good blues oriented jazz piano trio for quite a while. I'm glad I found this.

Ugly Casanova - Sharpen Your Teeth
Boy (Edgar Graham aka Ugly Casanova) meets band (Modest Mouse), boy follows band around on tour and writes an album in the process, boy disappears off the face of the planet leaving band, namely Isaac Brock, to record the album in hopes of luring the boy out of the perilous void. It didn't work, but the album is stellar.

Simon & Garfunkel - The sound of Silence
Well Ya' Know, cuz' like I'm gettin' old n' shit.

'The Colour Of Spring' is the only Talk Talk LP I don't have, must remedy that. Generally it's the last 2 I go back to most, just special records. I like the synth pop phase too but revisit it less.
