Oingo Boingo-Dead Man's Party
http://www.coverbrowser.com/image/be...006/3382-1.jpg not as eclectic as Good For Your Soul and a little slow up until "Weird Science", but at that point it really kicks into high gear and there you have one kickass new wave album |

Gracious - Gracious!
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA240_.jpg For fans of The Beatles and Klaatu. Very poppy progressive rock from 1970, with some longer instrumental passages. If The Beatles were more progressive. Meaning, not if they were more experimental and forward-thinking, but if their sound was combined with elements of 70s progressive rock. |

I've been digging- http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000F3T7XS.jpg Always been a fan of David Sylvian's voice, especially when he fronted Japan, but his solo stuff is surprisingly on an entirely different level alltogether. This debut in particular has some serious ambient leanings, which gives the listening experience a liquid quality you don't get too much from the 80's. Really awesome overall. |

I always forget about this album for some reason. Seems like ages since I heard it. I still can't decide if this, Malesch or Tago Mago is my favourite Krautrock album. http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l99/urbanH/427141.jpg Bit like garage folk punk, but with very little folk. Whatever the fuck it is, I like it. Trivia : Nightingales played more sessions for John Peel than any other band except The Fall. http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l99/urbanH/69717.jpg Best Peel Sessions album ever recorded. Certainly my most played anyway. |
Lateduster - Easy Pieces
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA280_.jpg Hmm, lovely piece of electronic-ish post-rock. For fans of Tortoise, Pivot, and Plaid. This was a bit of an oddity on the IDM label Merck Records, but not that out of place. It's as electronic as any Tortoise album. |
Areknamés - Areknamés
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...mL._AA240_.jpg Very good modern/retro prog rock album. I posted their second album on here a while back, saying how good it was. This is my first time listening to their debut and I'm just as impressed. They were to have a 3rd album out last year but it still hasn't come out, hopefully we'll see it soon. Dark, well produced and reminiscent of Van der Graaf Generator (mostly) and classic King Crimson. |
