(1986)

Crazy, crazy Ghanaian dance pop gem. It's a bit like ragga being made by a demented African child with a casiotone, you may ask why the hell anybody would want to hear that, but just you wait until Ata Kak casts his strange spell over you... Awesome Tapes from Africa

i don't usually like any of these lo-fi revival psych pop bands because i'm not a pretentious douchebag living in williamsburg, but this is some damn fine nostalgic synth tuneage. looking forward to some of his new stuff.

I feel very embarrassed to say this so I'm not even going to post a picture but I am really enjoying...

The New Moon Soundtrack

I am not a Twilight fan at all, in fact I absolutely despise the whole thing, but someone was playing this CD at work and I really quite enjoyed the soundtrack. Includes music from Death Cab for Cutie, Band of Skulls, Thom Yorke, Lykke Li, The Killers, Anya Marina, Muse, Bon Iver, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Sea Wolf, and more.

I just bought Rihanna's new cd. I'm really diggin it.. Don't get me wrong, with what 6 posts this makes me look like some MTV newb... This cd is actually pretty interesting and personal. Vulnerabitlity shines through a lot of great parts in the songs. The album is produced pretty well I think except one song where the guitar sound is just baaaaaad... I definitely got infected with this pop sound. Inspiring for my own song writing in the way that it's always nice to make the true and universal accessible in pop form. Like Bob Dylan.. Anyway, it's work checkin out if your curious..

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Just so everyone knows I wasn't double-posting, this wasn't there before I pressed post.

Also I guess I'll contribute while I'm editing...

PJ Harvey - White Chalk. An old favorite being given a respected spin.
