Just having a Robeson moment. A model human being and unrivalled as the voice of the century IMO (in the bass department at least); one of the few people I could honestly call a hero. This record is mostly just him accompanied by piano singing folk tunes from around the world, songs of struggle and partisanship for the most part. This was a song of the Spanish Loyalists |

PJ Harvey - Dry
Rock n roll! First time through and I'm digging it. I don't find it overtly sexual as Rickenbacker suggested. Of course, he is 14 right?

Still on my U2 kick type thing, and rediscovering No Line On The Horizon, and finding it much MUCH better than my initial assessments of it some nine months or so ago....

I haven't listened to any Eminem for years now and i'm happy with that, but i do wonder what i would make of those records now. I remember i got to the point where i just found 90% of his lyrical content and more the topics he chose to write about absolutely pathetic BUT i did (and maybe still do, i guess i cant say right now) always retain the opinion that he was a more talented lyricist that a lot of the haters gave him credit for. |

The Unicorns - Three Inches of Blood
There's not really any artwork but I'm using this. Fantastic demo right here. Better work than I would expect from most major label bands. Might be my favorite Ninja Tune artist. Every album I've listened to so far is fantastic, nice balance of ambient and catchy beats and so on. Last edited by music_phantom13; 11-23-2009 at 10:36 AM. |

One more I have to add:
Trouble Books - The United Colors of Trouble Books This is one of those albums that gave me goosebumps the whole way through the first time I listened to it, and still does. It's some melancholic, slow indie pop with an experimental droney edge. Last.fm has it tagged as dream pop but that's a lie. I can't really explain how good this is, but I do know I need the other 3 albums they've apparently released. |

I guess I interpreted Rickenbocker's comment as saying this album was more overtly sexual than the others, which is why I failed to see it. I wasn't really paying attention the lyrics anyway.
