Many thanks to Terrible Lizard for gettin' this one to me.

So, I became curious about this band as I was reading about different bands and groups from NZ, and I discovered that Rio Hemopo from Trinity Roots (awesome stuff there as well) is in the live line up for this band, Breaks Co-Op.

Didn't know anything about them other than what wiki told me, which wasn't a whole lot...only that it is "electronica" (which in my opinion is broad and doesn't necessarily fit the feel of the album as a whole). I have to say I am pretty obsessed with this album right now though. Supposedly the song "The Otherside" was the break out hit from this album, winning some awards and what not, but in my opinion the real standout track here is "Duet":

i was listening to Cranes on the way to work this morning, and i was trying to decide which of their many albums i like best. i failed to decide. they're all pretty much awesome. the best dream pop ever.

Seventh Wonder - Mercy Falls (2008)

Concept album dealing with a man in a coma and the strange city that exists in his mind, presented in a very heavy yet catchy sort of metal approach. Although a tad blatant every so often, the much better than expected instrumental interplay and vocal work ultimately convinced me that this is the best pop-metal fusion album I've heard since my days as a kid listening to Queensryche's Operation Mindcrime.

SWANS - The Great Annihilator

this album was what i was searching for for a very long time: a juxtaposition between the bleak lyrical wax of No New York and the higher fidelity production work of later years. if anything this blows Cop and Children of God out of the water.

Holy ****. This is insanely good; male and female rapping over some slightly weird trip-hop. I wasn't all that impressed by DJ Vadim solo (I only listened to one album and don't remember what it was called) but he mcees on this and his wife and some guy named Blu Rum 13 rap. This easily deserves to be up there with Telepopmusik, Sixtoo, and the likes. Maybe it is and I just didnt' know.

A Cranes fan? Hell yeah. I think Wings Of Joy is my favourite but 2008's S.T was superb too. I do have a couple of gaps in my Cranes collection that needs to be sorted out ASAP. I know that a lot of people can't get past the vocals but I love the innocent charm they lend to the music. Also try This Mortal Coil and Autumn's Grey Solace for similar dreamy goodness.

It's been a long while since I have heard this. Back in '91 members of Killing joke (minus frontman Coleman) teamed up with Scottish vocalist Chris Connelly and he certainly add's a different aspect with a voice more in tone with Scott Walker and David Bowie than the norm for Industrial Metal.

I bought this for a pound a few years ago and it was money well spent. A sort of Post Punk pop album. Catchy as hell but with enough angular riffs to keep you interested.

I'm very interested. Any chance I could get a link? Also, let me know if no one can get you either of those Cranes albums.
