The Glow Pt. II by The Microphones I regrettably missed ol' Philly playing near here the other night, especially since I pulled this album out for another play, it gets better with every listen. |

Ochre - Lemodie
Got this yesterday and playing it a second time now. Very well done, beautiful, warm, multi-layered electronic stuff that fans of Boards of Canada should enjoy. Some classical elements here and there too. Lovely.

Sixtoo - Duration
Very awesome instrumental hip-hop, hadn't played this one in a while. If you like Blockhead and that sort of stuff, you'll dig this. And sadly I just discovered that he'll no longer be releasing music as Sixtoo (no word on whether he will under other aliases) due to the theft of hard drives containing his material: "In the summer of 2009, a break-in @ the working compound of Weaponshouse saw a hard-drive and backup hard-drive stolen. Unreleased Sixtoo recordings, session stems, sample kits and loops as well as entire body of archive material spanning 15 years was stolen from a locked residence. This break-in officially closed the project in 2009, the last full length release was Sixtoo LP was 2007's "Jackals and Vipers in Envy of Man" still available on the Ninja Tune label." This makes me very very sad! and angry at the thieves!!

It's interesting you say that. I always had that feeling myself - however, a couple nights ago I decided to listen to Black Bastards while walking the dogs and I thought "holy shit! This is so much better than I remembered!" Anyway, if you want every track to be pure gold you can listen to the comp that Fondle 'Em records released..
