George Harrison - All Things Must Pass
^ Such a great album to just blare out when it's all getting on top of you this. Alright, it's a bit overly preachy in places, but this is the bright side of Phil Spector's wall of sound technique encapsulated in LP form, so you can overlook such things. The Beatles - Abbey Road ^ Got through my first end-to-end listen of this thing in a long, long time. Such a wonderful album. The Pogues - Peace and Love ^ This here's an album which manages to combine happiness, anger and sadness so well. In the bright spots at least. I mean, the second side's a bit weak but, again, there are other factors that make up for that. |

In my opinion, I think the newer NOFX is a lot more listenable. Parts of Punk in Drublic annoy the **** out of me, if only because Fat Mike's vocals were really whiny. I think after So Long and Thanks For All The Shoes, they started to get a lot better. I would recommend the newer stuff, So Long... is probably my favorite album from those guys.

Turin Brakes - JackInaBox I almost forgot how undeniably immense this album was. Brilliant, laid-back acoustic rock with a little bit of country thrown in to spice things up. The limited edition bonus DVD's great stuff too - might just have to watch it again in a bit. |
