Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band - Doc At the Radar Station
^ I love getting back to Beefheart after going yonks without listening to a peep out of him. It's that kind of relationship I have with his work - I go weeks, sometimes months without hearing him wondering why he's in my top scrobbled artists in LastFM, then comes that moment when I need to remind myself and I get hooked all over again. This album in particular's such a coherent unit which quite simply never falters, and given the kind of music he made that's quite an achievement. Might even have taken over the 'favourite Beefheart album' mantle from Trout Mask Replica and Decals just now. |

I say just review them all. Go Cave In mad. I was listening to 'Jupiter' in a state of semi-consciousness last night and it was even better. That album has a funny logic to it |

But what I meant was reviews of albums released in the early years of the label. Early releases by Cave In, Botch, drowningman, Coalesce, etc. |

damn yeah i meant Antenna. Antenna was the RCA one, then they got dropped, did a record on HH in 2005 and not a peep from them until a couple of months ago, when they released an EP.
Why not, could do with some schooling on classic metal/mathcore, all the names you mentioned keep cropping up for me |

Machina II... ya know, The Pumpkins shoulda just taken the plunge and put out another double album... so much stellar material going on here! They could have easily bested themselves with a double Machina... people might have even welcomed it, they knew the Pumpkins were a band that didn't do things by halves...
