the new EP from ORYAN.

Seen them live and they're top notch. The EP doesn't do them justice, but combined with the live show I saw, it's getting me pumped to hear what they have on their upcoming LP.

Considering it's self produced, it's damn impressive. although that taco bell song will probably offend most people. I believe they still stream it for free on their site. ORYAN - Home

Funnier Than Suicide - selftitled (2008/9?)

This is by (i since discovered) a well known Spanish cartoonist who makes a lot of cool music under a ridiculous amount of pseudonyms, ranging from sample-based instrumentals to this kind of basement indie stuff. He's definitely got the golden touch, a good sense of humour with music and amazingly it's all free off last.fm

here is another track by him under a different name, completely different sound

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Tonight's album...

World Coming Down - Type O Negative

Suprisingly wonderful to listen to tonight! I always kinda overlooked it in the TON cannon... but man it suprised me with its awesomeness tonight!

Type O Negative is about as awesome as you can get before you want to think about calling an ambulance.

(1993)
Lucifersam urged me to check these guys out, amazing band. A vague starting point for describing them might be industrial/'alt' and it doesn't do them just either; album's a punishing and sardonic attack, the lyrics are really good, the drums/percussion and song structures are markedly inventive and unusual, as with all the truly standout bands of this era (Jesus Lizard etc). The industrial edge is quite subtle but it's definitely there, they really catch fire on the slower sinister numbers. Not literally, that would just be a professionally-mastered recording of some men screaming and choking, which i know is what constitutes alot of good records but i'm rambling now. I can never say no to any anti-pig band name/title, even if they are sometimes good for getting directions

edit. silly me, they also sound like Big Black
edit 2. I didn't even mention the horn section, my stupidity knows no bounds! They deploy this very effectively on a number of tracks, here's a particularly fine example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgA-z50Fs44
