BUT...for someone who's only heard Narrow Stairs your advice seems sound. The early stuff is a different sound.

I finally tried Khanate's self-titled. I was scared off of them because people said they were "just noise". (Don't know why, considering I love the Melvins.). One of the best bands I've ever heard! Doomy sounds, tortured shrieks, and repeated evil vocals. Just incredible.
I'm also digging Burzum's Hlidskalf (or however you spell it). Quite relaxing. (Sorry, I think I double-posted. Don't know how.)

Bjork- Vespertine
Dear God this is a near masterpiece. I don't care if it's the ultimate estrogen album, I love this.

Pearl Jam - Pearl Jam
This is WAY BETTER than everything I've heard about it.... it's a darn fine alt rock album, that's what it is! Full of the stuff I love from this band! Thoroughly recommend it, against all popular opinion...

Now very much enjoying Machina by The Smashing Pumppkins... it must be overlooked albums by well known bands night for me...

^ Some fantastic, modern ska that bears quite the resemblance to the 1st wave before the coming of rocksteady. First time I've dug this out since I first got my grimy claws on it almost a year ago now. Supoib! |
