I have everything by them... just no way to upload it all with my current device... will probably be rectifying that real soon...
Albums I have been digging this evening... quite diversely different from one another, if I do say so myself... Wind and Wuthering - Genesis Starfish - The Church Godkiller - Deliverance I just realised that unintentionally all three of those albums have a religious connection... The first being by "Genesis" of course, as well as the fact it has religious overtones in songs like One for the Vine and Your Own Special Way... The second, obviously is by the Church... and there also religious touches in the track Hotel Womb... and the Godkiller album's entire lyrical content is derived from Psalms... So there ya go. Spooky.

Holy shit is this ever an amazing album. Takes everything I liked about Butcher's Ballroom and makes it heavier and more melodic. Seriously 2009 has been one of the best years for music this decade... |

BONG - BONG (2008) I've had this for a while but today I find myself revisiting it and realising why I absolutely fell in love with it all over again.
A few years back I went to see a band with a couple of mates of mine. We went to see them probably just out of idle curiosity and also because the band feature two guys we were working with at the time. The 3 track set of the 3 piece draped in complete darkness totalling an hour and 15 minutes in length of unrelenting riff heavy psychedelic rock certainly impressed and we made a habit of attending any gig of theirs that we could. This is that band. Released in 2008, the BONG LP was the first proper full length recording from a band that now seem to be a local, independent or D-I-Y labels wet dream. 33 minutes of crushing doom metal-esque riffage laced with effects and dark, moody vocals comes nicely packaged in and amongst an overall tone and feel of a complete meditative abyss. Whether this band decide to offer an all out assault on the ears with thunderously heavy guitar work or adopt a more peaceful, ambient stance to their live gigs, the end result is always as spectacular. Hopefully now they seem to be generating interest from various labels, prolifically releasing material whether it be splits with other bands, full length recordings, EP's or live sets and getting bookings further afield the word will now start to spread.
