Erik Truffaz - Arkhangelsk
sooooo good. i love all his albums, but i just can't stop listening to this one. Nya makes his usual appearance, but he's actually overshadowed by the apperance of Ed Harcourt, who really makes this album shine. if you like jazzy sounds, check it out. i also just grabbed Crustation - Bloom. no real verdict yet, but it seems to be a solid trip-hop album with a very unique sound - i think it's worth keeping around. |

I wasn't sure if I liked At The Drive-In so much until I gave a good listen to these next two albums. I have to say I was fairly surprised.
Recently got into these guys too, the front man is a really great lyricist and has some really meaningful stories and opinions. Poppy, fast, electronic, enjoyable, sometimes pretentious indie tunes. Lots of fun though. |

Doesn't sound like a band who are nearly 20 years old at all. Easily one of my favourite acts right now. I've been stressed as hell lately and this helping me chill out a bit, the title track in particular is inspired. |

Scott Walker - Scott 4
^ I've had this so long and listened to it so many times yet it still refuses to bore me. Some absolutely beautiful melodies, really well-written songs and some of the finest vocal performances I've ever heard. The Crystal Method - Vegas ^ Of all the music to come out of the progressive house/breakbeat boom of the 90s, this one's right out of the top drawer. Humble Pie - As Safe As Yesterday Is ^ And whenever you feel like ditching all that mamby-pamby, la-dee-da stuff and get back to something that just rocks and rocks hard, there are few albums more suitable than this one. |

Another contender for album of the year..
Absolute goliath of an album. 3 years ago i would never have imagined a band like these becoming one of my favourites but then again most bands aren't as consistent as this lot, definitely not as intense! |
