I gave Cynic's latest release Traced In Air another spin, the guitar work is definately improved as well as the vocals

Haven't listened to this album since i discovered The Beatles and Pink Floyd. That's a shame, I had forgotten how much i loved the song "Changes". and the many others lol

Decided to Dig up Mellon Collie by the Pumpkins tonight, got some time on my hands for some extended listening.... I always seem to gravitate to this album around fall, I dunno, I think its the overall mood of the album, the fact thaat I first heard it around this time of the year... anyways, to my ears it sounds as great as ever!

They never seem to get old to me... I do think they're getting quite a backlash against though... I guess that happens when you ride the crest of a wave for nearly a decade....
They are one of my top tier favorite bands so I still enjoy them no matter what... still kinda pissed that Billy isn't into making albums anymore... they were always more of an album kinda band IMO |
I'm really digging the new Green Day, 21st Century Breakdown. Especially "Peacemaker" and "21 Guns."
|
I haven't heard as much about 21st Century Breakdown as I did about American Idiot... I guess I could listen to it once and make my own mind up about it, I bought it for my step son, and he seems to love it...

Right now I am seriously enjoying Hospice by the Antlers, great mellow, emotional, atmospheric, kind of post-rock.
|
I am equally enjoying some mellowness in rock right now... the first Augie March album, Sunset Studies... a brilliant, sprawling piec e steeped in historic sounds, lyrical concepts... dreamy soundscapes... a completely wonderful musical experience, made better by the high quality headphones I'm listening through.....
