Soul Side - Hot Bodi-gram Mid 80s Dischord band made up of future members of Girls Vs Boys. Some songs are a bit punkier than what GvsB did, but other than the vocals you'd probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference. http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l99/urbanH/329419.jpg Blurt - Poppycock Post punk with horns, Lots & lots of horns in fact. Imagine A Certain Ratio with a lunatic sax player and a vocalist with a John Lydon style delivery and you wouldn't be too far removed from this. http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l99/urbanH/39551.jpg Agitation Free - Malesch Listened to this at work today & it took me too another place. Sadly it was only my mind that was taken somewhere else, I was still stuck there all fucking day, but that's not the albums fault. http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l9...nH/1205882.jpg Dementia Precox - Of Parts Unknown... Abrasive Mid 80s noise. Not quite as bad as Whitehouse or Nurse With Wound as there are some more 'rock'ish songs on here and they obviously don't take themselves too seriously (Song titles include 'Incredibly Strange Creatures who Stopped Living and Became Mixed Up Zombies' and also the wonderfully titled 'Phlegm'. But the high pitched whining noise on some of the tracks will have your ears begging you to turn it off. |

My album of the week: "Twin Cinema"-The New Pornographers. rockin' blend of modern pop and indie inventiveness. If Bowie and Cheap Trick decided to do a split with Matt Sharp, I predict that it would sound a lot like this Canadian super-group. Good stuff. Also, check out "Mass Romantic" and "Challengers"--both very solid albums. |

^ Some marvelous chamber pop that makes for one of my favourite albums of the 60s. The guy's voice can probably put out fires too. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_BR-l63C-2i...s+peace+89.jpg ^ Peace and Love, the Pogues' fourth album. A bit more confused and messy than the ones that came before it, but a) that's a strength and b) it's home to the most played song on my LastFM profile. http://images.bluebeat.com/an/9/7/1/2/l2179.jpg ^ Lifeforms by FSOL. I've bleated on about them enough for a week, so I'll just say that this album is deserving of all the positive adjectives that have been directed at it before. |

People always hate on Japanese music, but I can't hate on the pillows. They have a lot of magical music and a sound that speaks just as well as any other international band. My favorite album by them by far is Please Mr. Lostman. It's a great album from them put out in 1997. Every track has something beautiful to offer.

I think I'm going to get an album by them. I've only heard the track 'Sleepy Head' but it's sweet.

Type O Negative - Dead Again... damn I LOVE THIS ALBUM! It never gets bpring because its all so damn changeable from track to track, and even within tracks!

In the Court of The Crimson King
gave it another listen today, majestic and beautiful as it is hard hitting |

Such a cool little mix, there's some talent to be found in the Chinese music scene. It's still rather eclectic for a 'pop' mix, featuring artists such as Carsick Cars who have opened for Sonic Youth to China Dub Soundsystem and China MC Brothers, just great. Some of the songs are absolutely grating but overall I'm left thoroughly impressed. |
