Don't get me wrong, it's a great festival. I have tons of memories, from the officials pulling the plug on the Cure's set because they went past 11pm (noise bylaw), to seeing Explosions in the Sky for the first time. The venue is nice, even if it doesn't have a ton of shade, and it's easily accessible by the metro.

It's well organized too. I loved their idea of putting two stages together. One stage is being set up while the other is in use.

I've just reached the age where I don't have the stamina to go for that long.

Yeah I've only heard about that Cure gig (a friend said the audience was pretty apathetic), I was elsewhere for the whole summer. Caught them at the Bell centre a few years later. Smith himself was fine but how are you gonna play the Cure classics with a drummer as terminally boring and a dad rock lead guitarist...

The gig was great. Robert and co. don't disappoint. I wouldn't say the crowd wasn't into it. I think part of it was the demographics. The crowds at Osheaga tend to be younger. I'm not so sure most people in the crowd knew who they were!

I remember my first one with my wife. We get to the parc Jean-Drapeau, and I immediately start to feel OLD. I was in my thirties at the time. It was a weird vibe. On the flip side, I could see so many kids out there not prepared for the sun (I'm not complaining - Montreal scenery is FANTASTIC), or the terrain (flip flops for mostly gravel terrain). I was so out of place. I had snacks, water bottle, comfortable shoes, a rain coat. I must have looked like a grand father to most of those kids. lol

Seeing the cover of The Ex and Tom Cora, I remembered that it was on another release (Mr. Big - Lean into it). It's not often the same cover photo/art shows up on multiple albums.
