Listening to Because of the Times by Kings of Leon, and in my humble opinion its freaking fantastic killer album... full of great crunchy riffs, a little introspection and just some damn great hooks! I actually really love the roughness of the lead singers voice.... and its one with a great deal of character...
It was a real darn pleasant suprise to hear this album, and I am really getting into this band.

Rodan - Rusty glitchy, triptomatic math rock goodness. from the same group of folks that spawned Slint and June of 44, highly recommended for anyone who likes post rock. sounds like a mutant crossbreed of Slint and Shellac, equal parts melodic brilliance and sheer angry headfuck. Six Finger Satellite - Severe Exposure wonderful synth-based noise rock that bears a lot of resemblance to Nurse With Wound but has a bit more punch & effort in dynamic rhythm.

Maybe one of the best opening songs and opening lines with the song Blister in the Sun, it totally encompasses an entire attitude that ruled Rock n Roll for the longest time "When I'm-a walkin'/ I strut my stuff /Yeah I'm so strung out./ I'm high as a kite/ I just might/ Stop and check you out."

Keith Jarrett Trio - Out-of-Towners
An exquisitely recorded live jazz album recorded live in Munich in the summer of 01'. Highly recommended to anyone interested in the jazz piano trio genre. I have it @320 (which this recording certainly deserves to be listened to at the very least) if anyone's interested. |
