I like math rock. Today's music scene has too many genres and labels. It's confusing. We only need 2 categories:

GOOD MUSIC

-and-

BAD MUSIC

I'm having a really good day for music exploration, currently digging through some 80s classic albums, really dug the following:

The Replacements - Tim - Very fun punk-rock?, vocals reminded me a bit of Kurt Cobain.

Motorhead - Ace of Spades - Wow, this blew my earbuds. Not 100% convinced about the vocals but the guitars and drums are badass. It's generally so fast that it feels in between punk and rock.

Nine Inch Nails - Pretty Hate Machine - Best of the bunch, I never got around to listening to a full NIN album, even though I suspected there could be some good stuff there. This one hit the right spot, I love his vocals and the ominous, sexy melodies. Great combination of industrial, pop and rock.

Kramer
The Guilt Trip

What a f*cking ride. Holy sh*t. Check this out if you like experimental psych/folk and spoken word musings. Two hour long mind f*ck. So good.

Everything is just rock or jazz anyway. We'll just use those.

Shmu - Lead Me To The Glow (2018)

Bizarre but ingenious at times. This stuff makes Clarence Clarity sound like Michael Bolton.

I'm curious as to what you think. Personally I didn't think it was a good change in direction but other users on here have disagreed.

In my court, I'm starting my discography-wide listen of Biffy Clyro. I've always been a huge fan of Storm Thorgerson/Hipgnosis and if they make covers for an artist then there must be some semblance of quality there. Starting with the debut:
