Hot Snakes - Suicide Invoice (2002)

Such a great record. Superbly written songs that are energetic, raw, and melodic. Kinda hyping myself up for Jericho Sirens, which I haven't heard yet.

A synth-pop + shoegaze flavored progressive metal band from Denmark with a knack for good hooks. This new one is surprisingly dynamic: Mew meets Meshuggah pretty much.

One of my favorites from 2016. Good taste.

I thought this album was boring as hell. So disappointing.

I appreciate it's "pop metal" philosophy, not a fan of how they execute that idea.

This is a better "pop metal" album in my opinion:

Eh, I don’t really agree. Both bands were attempting to make an accessible, fun heavy rock album. I think they’re comparable, even if the sounds they ended up with are radically different.

Seems cool but at some point it started blurring together. I'm now interesting in the idea of mathcore power metal though.
