Chaos Invocation - Black Mirror Hours
2nd album by the German Black Metallers Chaos Invocation...I've heard other people call this "a modern black metal masterpiece" while I wouldn't go that far I would say it's a damn good album full of good riffs songs and just overall good ****ing music....lots of good tracks but my favorite is probably "Funeral Messiah" if you are a fan of the genre I'd highly recommend this. |

The Kamasi album didn't grip me, though... Not as The Epic, at least. Maybe it'll grow on me. |

Armand Hammer - Paraffin With Race Music and Furtive Movements, Billy Woods and Elucid were exploring some interesting ideas and had good chemistry, but they hadn't quite found their voice as Armand Hammer yet. They just sounded like Billy Woods and Elucid. Then they dropped Rome and carved their spot out as uncompromising lyricists with dark production. Where Rome was an apocalyptic snapshot of the world aflame, Paraffin shows a post-apocalyptic world where those flames still simmer. Even on Rome, it always felt like Elucid was being upstaged by Woods but he absolutely slays on this album. The production is more experimental and loose than their previous work and I'm excited to spend some more time with it. Favourite tracks atm: Rehearse With Ornette, Alternate Side Parking, and Bob Barker. Link in photo.

Clipping - CLPPNG Just watched Blindspotting with Daveed Diggs (great film) and reminded me this record is fucking incredible. The way he uses an alarm clock is brilliance incarnate.

^^ my university's radio station was giving out free CDs including Splendor and Misery. It's not too bad but not the best when it comes to indus. hip-hop. Is that album better? Cause I haven't heard it.
Xploding Plastix - Amateur Girlfriends Go Proskirt Agents Grindy, you beautiful bastard, thank you for introducing me to this. Slowly gaining momentum among my favorite albums. |

Lunatic Soul - Fractured (2017) Mariusz Duda: basically Steven Wilson's proggy Polish counterpart who is better than him in every way. This album is glorious, though like a lot of this guy's output it takes a bit of time to unfold it's brilliance. Light Coorporation - Rare Dialect (2011) Somebody watched a lot of noir and decided to do a free jazz album with some great fusion players, some tuba and what sounds like a Chinese zither. Yummmmmm.

Nothing beats Splendor and Misery, but it's almost equally as great. And so is there first mixtape. Clipping's quality.
