Zola Jesus - Okovi

Kinda impressed with this. "Siphon" I have to skip over, that song is dreadful. But thoroughly enjoying this record. Love the atmosphere, love the vocals, lyrics, and especially the drums on this thing. For never hearing this band or singer in my life before this record, I should now be dipping my toes in their catalog.

It's a really nice record.

Trollheart listening to Vietnamese jazz/World Music? This is why I began my thread: I would never have even thought of listening to something like this otherwise, and it's pretty damn superb.

Agreed, I'm shocked at all these avant-pop chicks making good stuff this year.

Prins Thomas (Remixes Dungen)
Häxan (Versions by Prins Thomas)

Welp, found my album of the year so far. Prins Thomas chose "Häxan" out of all the albums from Dungen to cover and he knocked it out of the f*cking park. I'm not really into a lot of these ambient sort of dark moody electronica guys but once in a while something comes along, like Bohren and der Club of Gore, and just makes a huge impression. Fantastic album that's now on top of my favorites list of the year.

back in like 2010 I whim purchased a II by Lindstrom & Prins Thomas and it remains as one of the best blind buys ive ever made. I'm not familiar with Dungen but may have to check this album out anyways.
