it's pretty good. not great, not bad. i think they've definitely done better (deja and devil and god) but they've also done worse (daisy)
there are a few really high quality songs on it though.

I think it's pretty overrated if you ask me. All the good reviews made me pumped but it just sounds like run of the mill emo. Which is never good emo.

Heatwave—Central Heating (1977) Continuing my recent funk/disco exploration. I really don't think there's a bad song on this album—the whole thing sounds like snorting a ton of blow poolside in Miami, and I mean that in the best way possible. This is sugary, dancey pop, but with an undercurrent of weirdness that really puts it over the top. It doesn't hurt that everyone in the band is a consummate musician. Oh yeah, and the keyboardist wrote a bunch of Michael Jackson songs, including "Thriller". |
