I never met a Sonic Youth album I liked.
What are your favorite SY tracks? |

It's been awhile since I really listened to Sonic Youth but Confusion Is Sex and Kill Yr Idols are still the ****ing ****. If I was gonna be in an arty, experimental rock band then it might just be this era of SY.

I kinda dig this album, a little bit. http://media.pitchfork.com/photos/59...0/097f6406.jpg The Walkmen - Lisbon I've never been a Walkmen fan (ever), but this record tickles my balls in a way no other Walkmen record has. |

The Outfield - Extra Innings (1999) Nice album of unreleased material from their first four albums, but all of it sounds great. I've always loved these guys and their cool power pop / AOR crossover sound, so highly enjoying this one. http://thefader-res.cloudinary.com/i...en-youtube.jpg Toro Y Moi - Boo Boo (2017) Hard one to pin down here, and I appreciate that. This is the first full length I've heard from Chaz Bundick where he's taken the complete plunge into something like the vaporwave aesthetic. Not a bad cocktail: a little Depeche Mode, a little Prince, the slightest sprinkling of 80's Alexander O'Neal...shake, stir, enjoy. |

Ethnic Minority Music of Northeast Cambodia Released by Strange Frequencies, Alan Bishop's label, this record follows the aboriginal Cambodian Pnong tribe. This album is full of great a capella performances, ear on the wall inclusions on ceremonies, hypnotic gong and flute grooves, catchy folk ballads, and earthy music. Highly recommended. |
