It's like if The Beatles released something in 2016. Listened to this once all the way through and it's fantastic.

Tangents - Stateless (2016)

It's like a mixture of experimental, jazz, post-rock, instrumentals, and whatever else you wanna throw into the mix. Each track is so diverse and different but as an album it really works. I'm only a few tracks into this, but this is what it would probably sound like if Frownland actually took himself seriously and made a decent experimental jazz album instead of the bull****tery he makes now. And yes, that's a compliment for both this album and Frownland's music.
Damn you Ki, you're going to make me have to edit my best of 2016 lists. Both great picks, Golden Daze especially - so many bands try and emulate past eras, often getting the textures and tropes right, but few do it with songs that are actually good.

I was just listening to that tape last week.

An album with a cover as an homage to the Black Jazz label of the '70s and
begins with a sample from the beginning of the Ahmad Jamal album Freeflight.
