Hiatus Kaiyote - Choose Your Weapon (2015)

You'd think these guys would be some deliciously weird EDM or metal band based on this album cover, but they're actually just spacey, gorgeous neo-soul from Australia with a hankerin' for sonic oddities here and there. Been digesting this one quite a while: hope they do another album someday.

The Rippingtons - Tourist In Paradise (1989)

Essential smooth / contemporary jazz. Very Weather Channel but pure ear candy after a long day. I've been a Rippingtons advocate for years now, but revisiting some of their most atmospheric work in 2017 is just unbelievably refreshing. They're pretty much the godfathers of vaporwave too!

Spoiler for big picture:

This album is my **** right now, and I'm pretty sure won't be topped in 2017 whatsoever.

That's pretty dank, the singer reminds me of Eric Wood, who kicks a lot of ass.
