Preoccupations - s/t I liked this album a lot when it was first released, and immediately felt it was on par with Viet Cong. After giving it a few more listens however, I can say I actually find it to be the better album. It's making a serious case for my AOTY.

Phantogram - Three These guys just keep getting better. They haven't changed their sound much since the last album, but the songs are tighter and you can tell they know what they are doing now. "Same Old Blues" is a definite highlight for me.

I like it a lot too. "You Don't Get Me High Anymore" being the standout for me

The DKV Thing Trio - Collider (2016) I've heard two minutes of this so far and it's excellent because of course it would be with everyone who's on it.

Stampin' Ground - A New Darkness Upon Us (2003)
This album is quickly replacing Carved from Empty Words as my fav Stampin' Ground album. It's just so crushing, savage, and streamlined. A beatdown metalcore album that's better thrash than 99% of actual thrash albums ever recorded. Would so much rather listen to this than pretty much all pretentious mathcore. Trve metalcore legions ****ing unite!

I keep giving it listens but it's not clicking with me at all. Same goes for their Viet Cong record. A few great songs here and there, but if I wanna listen to Joy Division, I'll just listen to Joy Division. Also I think they're pussies for changing their name.

They should have changed their name to "Fuck the Vietnamese".

You should write a personal feature article for your school newspaper on the difficulties of being a music enthusiast and deaf at the same time.
