The Raymond Brake-Piles of Dirty Winter
This album is the closest thing I've ever heard that Polvo-Today's Active Lifestyles. It's a little bit I guess poppy is the word and accessible but at the cost of nothing it's an amazing album.

The Fu*king Champs - V
There aren't many bands to my mind that can mix incredible technical skill with a good sense of fun. Air on the G-String may sound like blasphemy to classical fans, but they pull it off really well. Also their guitarist used to be in Weakling, one of my favourite black metal bands ever. Gregor Samsa - 27:36 Detractors write their music off as sounding Sigur Ros-lite, but for me they throw quite a few different elements into the mix. The second track is definitely the standout track, being one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. VNV Nation - Empires This is an absolute classic and bizarrely used to be one of my standard choices to accompany my reading of journals/books at uni. They're also the music act I most want to see live at the moment. Nadja - Truth Becomes Death Ugh, the phrase 'ambient doom' fills me with uneasiness, but ultimately it's the best one to describe this monster, which is the brainchild on one of the most prolific artists I know: Aidan Baker. His noise-based material is good too, but I prefer the huge, menacing side of Nadja.

My Dad Is Dead - Peace , Love And Murder Don't know an awful lot about this band but their lead singer sounds EXACTLY like Ian Curtis and the music sounds a lot like Flip Your Wig era Husker Du. So naturally I like it a lot. The Models - AlphaBravoCharlieDeltaEchoFoxtrotGolf Australian post punk ... noisy , abrasive , energetic and lots of synths. Not really that original but I could listen to this stuff all day. A bit like The Fall , but more accessible. Frank Zappa - The Grand Wazoo Had this for ages but never got around to listening to it. It makes interesting background chill out music anyway. Not his best album but an average Zappa album is better than a lot of bands good albums. Adorable - Against Perfection Adorable bridged the gap between early 90s shoegaze & britpop. A bit poppier than your average shoegaze band and a lead singer with a big mouth & bundles of attitude. Should have been much bigger than what they were.

FELA KUTI-THE 69 SESSIONS
More fantastic Afro-Beat from one of Africa's greatest musicians. His albums always make me feel warm and happy inside. RIVERSIDE-RAPID EYE MOVEMENT E.P Riverside are very good at what they do. A sort of poor man's Porcupine Tree but the vocals are much better! However each release sound's remarkably similar to their previous releases and progressive rock is exactly that-a progression for better or worse with each album. NICK CAVE & THE BAD SEEDS-DIG, LAZARUS,DIG! (No image available yet for some reason..) Only a singular listen but Mr. Cave seems almost playful on this album. I am liking what I hear a lot. KING CRIMSON-THREE OF A DECENT PAIR A personal attempt at the King Crimson back catalogue lead me to this surprisingly good album. A few passages show their age (1984) but there are some great little jams on here. A band that I think I am really going to be digging a lot more.
